In contrast to 'bitter', 'salty' and 'sour', 'sweet' tickles our taste buds and gives us a feeling of well-being. With any diet that does not take account of your individual preferences, you will sooner or later 'backslide'. The products from Hermesetas help you to keep your long-term calorie intake at a reasonable level or even to reduce it - without having to cut out sweet foods and drinks.
How do sweeteners protect the teeth?
The most widespread disease caused by civilisation is caries. Many children and teenagers already exhibit major damage to the teeth resulting from inadequate cleaning and eating the wrong foods.
Sugar and starchy foods encourage the build-up of plaque bacteria, the metabolism of which produce acids that attack the dental enamel and cause caries. After every meal or snack that contains carbohydrates, the saliva needs about half an hour to neutralise the pH value.
Sweeteners contain no carbohydrates and therefore cannot attack the teeth. Sweeteners do not, however, replace regular cleaning and dental check-ups.
